👋 Hey there,

Getting traffic but not conversions?

This prompt audits every step to find exactly where people drop off.

The Conversion Audit Prompt

Identifies bottlenecks killing your conversion rate and how to fix them.

📋 THE PROMPT:

Audit the conversion funnel for [YOUR WEBSITE/PRODUCT/LANDING PAGE].

Funnel details:
Current conversion rate: [PERCENTAGE]
Traffic sources: [WHERE VISITORS COME FROM]
Goal action: [SIGNUP/PURCHASE/BOOKING/DOWNLOAD]
Main pages in funnel: [LIST PAGES]
Known issues: [WHAT YOU SUSPECT]

Audit each funnel stage:

**Stage 1: Landing/Entry Point**

Current page: [URL OR DESCRIPTION]

What to audit:
Does the headline match the traffic source?
Is the value proposition clear in 5 seconds?
Is there visual hierarchy (eyes know where to look)?
Are there distracting elements (too many CTAs)?
Does it load fast (under 3 seconds)?
Is it mobile-friendly?

Red flags:
Headline doesn't match ad/link they clicked
Generic stock photos
Wall of text
Unclear what you're offering
Slow load time
Broken on mobile

Quick wins:
Match headline to traffic source
Add clear subheadline explaining benefit
Remove anything that doesn't drive toward conversion
Optimize images for speed
Test on actual mobile device

**Stage 2: Value Proposition**

What you're offering: [DESCRIBE]

What to audit:
Do you lead with benefits or features?
Is the offer specific or vague?
Do you address the main objection immediately?
Is there proof (testimonials, numbers, logos)?
Do you create urgency (legitimate, not fake)?

Red flags:
Features-focused ("We have X")
Vague promises ("Get better results")
No social proof
Fake scarcity ("Only 3 left!" when it's always 3)
Jargon or industry speak

Quick wins:
Rewrite headline as benefit ("Save 10 hours/week")
Add specific numbers
Include 1-2 testimonials above fold
Remove fake urgency
Use simple language

**Stage 3: Call-to-Action**

Current CTA: [BUTTON TEXT/PLACEMENT]

What to audit:
Is the CTA visible without scrolling?
Is button text specific ("Start Free Trial" vs "Submit")?
Is there one clear primary action?
Does color contrast make it stand out?
Is there a secondary CTA for not-ready buyers?

Red flags:
CTA below the fold
Generic text ("Click Here", "Submit")
Multiple competing CTAs
Button blends into page
No option for hesitant visitors

Quick wins:
Move primary CTA above fold
Change to action-oriented text
Make button high contrast color
Add secondary "Learn More" option
Repeat CTA on long pages

**Stage 4: Form/Checkout**

Current process: [DESCRIBE STEPS]

What to audit:
How many fields are required?
Do you ask for unnecessary information?
Is it clear what happens after submission?
Are error messages helpful?
Can they save progress?
Do you show security badges (for payment)?

Red flags:
Asking for too much upfront
Unclear error messages ("Invalid input")
Multi-page forms without progress bar
No indication of next step
Looks untrustworthy (no HTTPS, no badges)

Quick wins:
Remove optional fields
Make required fields obvious
Add progress indicator
Improve error messages ("Email format: [email protected]")
Add trust badges near submit

**Stage 5: Post-Conversion**

What happens after: [DESCRIBE]

What to audit:
Is there a clear confirmation?
Do you set expectations for next steps?
Do you deliver immediately (if applicable)?
Is there a thank you page?
Do you offer a quick next action?

Red flags:
No confirmation message
Unclear what happens next
Delayed delivery with no explanation
Dead-end thank you page
Missed opportunity to engage further

Quick wins:
Clear "Success!" message
Explain timeline ("Check email in 5 min")
Deliver instantly when possible
Use thank you page for secondary action
Send confirmation email immediately

**Heatmap Analysis** (If you have data)

Check for:
Where do people click that aren't CTAs?
How far do people scroll?
Do they see the CTA?
Are they reading or bouncing?

Tools to use:
Hotjar
Microsoft Clarity
Lucky Orange

**Exit Point Analysis**

Where do most people leave?
What's on that page?
What might be confusing them?
Is there a technical issue?

Common drop-off points:
Pricing page (too expensive or unclear)
Form page (too many fields)
Checkout (unexpected costs)
Loading screen (too slow)

**Mobile vs Desktop Comparison**

Conversion rate on mobile: [PERCENTAGE]
Conversion rate on desktop: [PERCENTAGE]

If mobile is significantly lower:
Test the mobile experience yourself
Check if forms are easy to fill on phone
Verify buttons are large enough to tap
Ensure text is readable without zooming

**Speed Test**

Page load time: [SECONDS]
Time to interactive: [SECONDS]

If over 3 seconds:
Optimize images
Minimize scripts
Use CDN
Enable caching

**Priority Fixes** (Based on audit)

High Impact, Easy Fix:
[List quick wins that will move the needle]

High Impact, Hard Fix:
[List important but time-consuming changes]

Low Impact:
[List nice-to-haves for later]

Test in this order:
1. Fix highest-impact, easiest changes first
2. Measure results for 1 week
3. Then tackle harder improvements

🎯 HOW TO USE IT:

  1. Walk through your own funnel as a new visitor

  2. Answer each audit question honestly

  3. Generate priority fixes list

  4. Implement top 3 quick wins this week

  5. Test for 7 days, measure impact

💡 PRO TIP: Don't change everything at once. Fix ONE thing, measure it for a week, then fix the next. Otherwise you won't know what actually worked.
